Bradley Whitford knows 'Jack'
News
Bradley Whitford has been tapped to star in "Jack and Dan," Matt Nix's new 13-episode series for Fox.
The straight-to-series hourlong project is produced by Fox TV Studios under the company's international co-production model.
It centers on Jack, an ambitious, by-the-book cop who is partnered with Dan (Whitford), a drunken, lecherous, wild-card cop who hangs onto his job only because of a heroic act years before.
Filming on the show, an action comedy in the tone of Nix's USA Network hit "Burn Notice," is slated to begin early next year.
This is the second buddy-cop comedy project for Emmy winner Whitford, who also starred in the NBC half-hour pilot "Off Duty" this past development season. The actor, next seen in "The Cabin in the Woods," is repped by WME and manager Adena Chawke.

7th Season Of Monk On DVD
News
Not much news on the Bradley front. There has been a lot of coverage about Jan and Bradley’s divorce but little else. On the plus side the 7th season of Monk is being released on DVD this week. Bradley appears in one episode, Mr. Monk On Wheels on the 3rd disc of the set. If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, it’s a very funny portrayal by him and it’s not difficult to get into as I don’t watch the show and I enjoyed it.

No Pick Up
News
So during the upfronts NBC announced several pilots it was picking up for next season. Off Duty was not amongst them despite early buzz. So what does this mean? It means the Bradley's pilot is probably dead in the water. It was specifically marketed to NBC and since it looks like they passed chances are we won't be seeing it.
The one ray of hope? NBC will announce their final 2009-2010 schedule on Tuesday May 19, 2009 so there still is the barest outside chance that they'll decided to pick up one or two more pilots at that time and that Off Duty could sneak in. We'll keep you posted.

Off Duty Gets Strong Early Buzz
News
Off Duty Bradley's pilot alongside Weeds alumni Romany Malco has been getting early buzz well...just about everywhere. The leader character being played by Mr. Whitford is detective Glenn Falcon as an unhinged veteran cop who gets a new partner and drives him a little crazy. Zap2It has featured it in their most recent "Know Your 2009 Pilots" section on the Inside The Box blog and it's also mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter as a show that looks promising for pick up. Despite the fact that Off Duty was developed for NBC and would air there (which given it's limited amount of available air time is worrisome) this is good news.
Keep your fingers crossed and soon we could get a new show to watch our boy in every week!
