"Malcolm in the Middle" actress Jane Kaczmarek and her "West Wing" actor husband Bradley Whitford are calling it quits after nearly 17 years of marriage, People magazine reports.

"He hopes the media will respect their wish for privacy as they focus on their children," Whitford's rep tells the magazine.

The pair, who filed divorce papers Friday in Los Angeles, has three young children together, 12-year-old Frances Genevieve, 9-year-old George Edward and 6-year-old Mary Louisa.

This is a real shame. He's having some bad luck recently perhaps her success is putting s strain. One article said he filed rather than they filed????

Well, according to the papers, which Extra! posted, he filed. Also, the date of their formal separation was the opening night of Boeing, Boeing. She made a statement that night that the gorilla routine he used was the most useful thing he learned at Julliard. angry He apparently said many years ago that she can be very strong-willed. crying

Thanks. Reading the actual papers filed - amazing. Guesss the last year has been a charade. More interview with Jane could be interesting. She is the boss that's for sure!

Now she wants the kids with him having visitation rights. I like her less and less angry
